Cleaning The Shed (excerpt)

"Can I help you now clean up the shed dear," she asked,
And my heart straightaway missed a beat
Her intentions were good and she wanted to help.
My refusal though, should be discrete.

Now then, if you call in mate, perhaps for a yarn,
Please don't worry about the clean floor.
Just come right through inside where the action takes place.
For it's only been cleaned near the door.

Because just round the door, where it first greets your eye,
I will keep it as clean as can be,
So there's no sudden urge to clean everything up
When she looks in to call me for tea.
